QOTW: A new day.

“Finish each day and be done with it. You have done what you could. Some blunders and absurdities have crept in; forget them as soon as you can. Tomorrow is a new day. You shall begin it serenely and with too high a spirit to be encumbered with your old nonsense.” -Emerson

The last two-three weeks have been high stress around these parts. One of those times in life when everything sort of goes “kaBLOOEY” and there’s not much you can do but try to make a path through it all. As a result of all this kablooey-ness, I’ve been spending too much time thinking “well, I should have done XYZ instead” or “oh I can’t believe I didn’t think of ABC as a solution” and not enough time focusing on all that I was accomplishing. I achieved a huge goal at work this week, reaching the end of the first half of a HUGE project, but I was too busy going “okay, now I need to do this, this and this” to go “WAHOOO we did it!”

So, this week my goal is to take each day on its own – with a beginning, middle and end – and then leave it behind to focus on the next, new day.
