Today I feel like I swallowed one – very bloated, even though I’ve been drinking more water now that the weather has warmed up!
I’m also dithering about beach volleyball. Some of the people I play slo-pitch with are going to play beach volleyball through the same company, and I’ve decided to join them. It’s one night a week, 3 games a night, for 7 weeks. The decision I have to make now is whether to do a “train and play” program as well – it’s 2hours/week of coaching and practice for 7 weeks. I’ve always wanted to be a better volleyball player, ever since high school. It would be great exercise, and more time outdoors every week. Sounds pretty great, eh?
The only thing holding me back is the cost. The league cost is pretty reasonable – about $40-50/person. The “train and play” is $120 each, though. Yeee-ouch. I’ve decided to sell my gym membership, which will save me $40/month, though, so maybe it’s not so bad.
If I go through with both things, I’ll have at least 2 nights a week of outdoor physical activity. There will even be a couple weeks where I’d be playing softball (Tues), volleyball (Weds or Thurs) and training (Fri). That would be good for my health, motivation and weight loss, certainly!
