The Girl.

“I believe that we learn by practice. Whether it means to learn to dance by practicing dancing or to learn to live by practicing living, the principles are the same. In each, it is the performance of a dedicated precise set of acts, physical or intellectual, from which comes the shape of achievement, a sense of one’s being, a satisfaction of spirit. One becomes, in some area, an athlete of God. Practice means to perform, over and over again in the face of all obstacles, some act of vision, of faith, of desire. Practice is a means of inviting the perfection desired.” -Martha Graham

I’m Marianne, a twentysomething living with my fiance in Vancouver, BC.

I work for a small-but-growing non-profit as an admin assistant/programs manager/fundraiser large non-profit as an admin coordinator/executive assistant. I just finished the last semester of my B.A. in Sociology, and I’m excited for it to be “official” in May graduated from university in May 2008 and I’m very relieved to be done! I’ve gone back to school part-time to learn more about non-profit management, and see a long, happy future in the field.

I have no idea what comes next, but I’m staying open to whatever opportunities come my way.

This blog is all about figuring out what I want to do and who I want to be when I grow up, and then going after that life whole-heartedly.

You should know that I have a weakness for Jeopardy!, anything involving dark chocolate, and baby animals.
