Baby Steps and SMART Goals
So my big goals for 2008 are:
Get to goal by eating well, moving more and taking care of myself. Right now I’m shooting for 160lbs, but I’ll reassess as I go along. This will happen before New Year’s Eve.
Try at least one new recipe a week and blog about it.
Get fit enough to run the [...]

One Little Word 2008
When I started thinking about my “one little word” for 2008, I drew a complete blank. I really had no ideas at first – not a single word came to mind. The more I thought and prayed and thought and thought about it, the more words popped out at me. I went from no ideas [...]

Post-Christmas Report
I’m back in Vancouver, recharged after a week at home with my family. We baked and cooked and ate and read and joked and relaxed together. We ate, a lot. Lots of our traditional Christmas food, and some new things.
As for Best Life Diet, I tried to keep with the 3-meals-and-a-snack, but it ended [...]

One Little Word 2007: Faith
Inspired by Lawren Coope, I chose faith as my “one little word” for 2007. I loved this idea, loved the reminder and connection to the word that developed. The posts associated with my one little word are all together here. More info about “one little world” is available at Lawren’s blog, especially this post and [...]

Merry Christmas!
Merry Christmas all!
I’ve been home since the 21st, relaxing with my family and getting recharged a little.
More posting to come in a couple of days… for now my focus is on eating, drinking, and being merry with the ones I love.

BLD Week 1
Well, I’ve done one week. Yay!
It’s a slow adjustment, which I’m allowing myself. I think that Phase 1 will end up being 6-10 weeks long for me, rather than the minimum 4 weeks. I’ve done well with the eating breakfast, lunch, dinner and a snack every day. I’ve been exceptionally good at not eating [...]

Best Life Diet
Before I start documenting my experiences with BLD, I want to note that I’m at a point where I’m pretty torn about dieting and weight loss. On the one hand, hot damn do I want to dump these extra pounds and get back my formerly fit self. On the other hand, I am a big [...]

Looking back: 2007 in review
I have a whole series of posts sitting, half-written, and I just can’t get myself to finish them off. They’ll come, likely between now and New Year’s.
In the meantime, I thought I would look back over 2007 a little. It’s been a big year for me, and I want to focus on all the things [...]

Housekeeping
As you’re browsing the site (unless you read off the feed!), you’ll notice I’ve changed a few things around. As I gear up for the new year, I’m doing a little changing here, a little housekeeping there. I’ve added some great blogs to my blogroll (scroll down and look on the right!), put up a [...]
